Sadarang

Sadarang (1670-1748) was the pen name of the Hindustani musical composer and artist Niyamat Khan.[1] He was born in 1670 and died in 1748, and was active in the eighteenth century. He is considered the founder of the Khayal form of Hindustanti music from India. He served in the court of Mughal Emperor Muhammad Shah, also known as Rangile (ruled 1719-1748).[2] Sadarang's music remains influential in Pakistani music.[citation needed]
