This article is about Sadao Watanabe the stencil-printing artist (1913-1996). For the jazz saxophonist (1933-), see Sadao Watanabe (musician).
Sadao Watanabe (1913-1996) was a Japanese artist well known for his stencil printing.
He was a major Japanese Christian artist who used traditional Japanese stencils techniques to give what he regarded as "a fresh unique edge to an otherwise restricting concept." His work can be found in the Vatican, in the Tate Gallery in London, and many other places.
