Sadaf Foroughi

Sadaf Foroughi (born 1976 in Tehran) is an Iranian film maker and video artist.

Foroughi was born in Tehran, Iran. She graduated with a bachelor degree in French literature and continued her study in master degree in film studies. She received her master degree in film studies from University of Provence in Aix-en-Provence, France. In 2004 she joined to Iranian Short Film Association (ISFA).
Till now she has 9 short films in her cinematographic background and has taken a part as an editor in 4 short films. She made her first video "Une Impression" in 2004. She has since made 8 short films and videos, which were screened in some international Film festivals such as the Berlinale Talent Campus, the Kurzfilmfestival - International Short Film Festival in Hamburg,Germany and Athens Video Art Festival. Her films include "Simple Comme Bonjour " (2005), "Bread" (2005), and "Sara In 10 Minutes" (2006). Among her recent works are two video arts produced by New York film Academy in 2007; "Les Mains Sale" and "To Be or Not To Be". In 2007 she made a short documentary film, named "Feminine, Masculine" for ZDF/ARTE which is about the women's situation in Iran. This short documentary is a part of a program called Why Democracy?
Foroughi has also some experiences in photography and choreography.
She is living in both Iran and France and working as a film maker and video artist.
