MEN OF 57 BATTERY, 2/7 FIELD REGIMENT, MANNING A 25-POUNDER FIRING ON TARAKAN TO GIVE SUPPORT TO 2/13 FIELD COMPANY, ROYAL AUSTRALIAN ENGINEERS, TROOPS BREACHING JAPANESE WIRE DEFENCES DURING THE OBOE 1 OPERATION. IDENTIFIED PERSONNEL ARE:- GUNNER H.J. MCCAVANA (1); BOMBARDIER R.B. HANNA (2); GUNNER F.C. WRIGHT (3); GUNNER W.H. SPOHR (4); GUNNER A. MCLENNAN (5); SERGEANT J.B. PHILPS (6).
