Sachin Chandrakant Ketkar (born 1972) is one of the distinctive voices in new Marathi poetry. He is a bilingual writer and translator writing in Marathi and English. `Bhintishivaichya Khidkitun Dokavtana' is his collection of Marathi poems and ` A Dirge for the Dead Dog and other Incantations' is his collection of English poems. Recently he edited and translated ` Live Update: An Anthology of Recent Marathi Poetry' published by Poetrywala, Mumbai.

Born and brought up in the small coastal town of Valsad, in the southern part of Gujarat, he did his Bachelors (1993) and Masters degree(1995) in English literature before working on translation studies for his doctoral degree. He has translated around ninety compositions of Narsinh Mehta for his thesis by translation. He was awarded Ph.D from theVeer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat in 2002. He worked as lecturer in SB Garda College of Arts and PK Patel college of commerce, Navsari from 1995 to 2006.

He is associated with the little magazine movement in contemporary Marathi poetry and publishes criticism and poetry regularly in the well known Marathi little magazines like Abhidhanantar, (Mumbai), Khel(Mumbai) , Shabdavedh (Buldana) and Saakshat (Aurangabad).

His English poetry has appeared in the periodicals like the Journal of Poetry Society India, New Delhi, Poesis, Mumbai, Quest, Ranchi and so on. He has read his poetry in many places.

His critical articles on translation, contemporary Marathi poetry and Indian poetry in English have appeared regularly too.

He is one of the contributing editors of a reputed quarterly New Quest.

He works as Reader in the Dept of English, Faculty of Arts, The MS University of Baroda, Vadodara.
