Talk:Sabine Baring-Gould/Comments
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I enjoyed this entry very much, and learned a great deal from it. I found myself doing a web search on S. Baring Gould after I'd read an excellent preface he'd written for a collection of Grimm's Fairy Tales: "Fairy Tales from Grimm", published by Wells Garddner, Darton & Co, in 1894. The book is beautifully illustrated by Gordon Browne, which is why I'd obtained it first of all. It's evident from the content of the preface, though, in which Gould gives us a fairly thorough and convincing explanation of things - as to how the exacting methods employed by the Brothers Grimm make their collected tales superior to any other - that this man really knew his stuff.
