Talk:Saber class starship (Star Trek)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Why is this ship a light cruiser? Its about the same size as a Nova class starship but with half of the crew? I think a better designation would be a frigate or escort. Also, what happened to the Yeager? According to Memory Alpha, there is a - rather ugly - kitbashed starship also called the Yeager (NCC-65674).

- I put 'light cruiser' in the article because that's what the ST:DS9 Tech. Manual said it was. That thing was pretty error-riddled and I don't think ship types are hard and fast things, so I don't suppose that it would be a terrible thing if you wanted to change it. About the kitbashed Yeager: that was supposed to have been one of the custom-made ships built for the Dominion war. The ST:DS9 TM, I think it was, says that a good deal of those only had registries, no official names. The Yeager might be like that. If not, I don't think that canon has ever shown that Starfleet can't have multiple ships of the same name simultaneously. -- Djinn112 07:02, 13 Jul 2004 (UTC)
[edit] USS da Vinci
In the future, please do not add the USS da Vinci to this page. Although the Saber class starship is canon, the da Vinci is not and has only appeared in a noncanon novel. I have placed a warning in the article itself. For more information on canon, you may see: Star Trek canon. Thank you. --Blue387 19:47, 8 May 2005 (UTC)
- There is no indication that this should refer only to canon examples of the Saber class. In fact, the project refers to a Star Trek-related materials. Because the USS da Vinci is such an important example of the Saber class, it is my opinion it should definitely be included in the project (and on this page). However, in light of the tangential sub-project to define canonicity, I will label it as non-canon. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by LeyteWolfer (talk • contribs) 06:11, 28 December 2006 (UTC).
