Williams was born in London to parents of British, Russian, Romanian, Guyanese, and Carib descent. Her uncle is the painter Aubrey Williams.

Williams started performing at the age of three and became a professional dancer and actress. She starred in several British films, including a lesbian journalist in Thin Ice [1] with Sir Ian McKellan and James Dreyfuss. She then joined the English Shakespeare Company, playing several leading roles, including Cleopatra in Antony & Cleopatra (AD Michael Bogdanov), directed by Tim Carroll. During this time Williams guest starred and was a regular face in many British television series including a cult following as Lisa Yates [2] in the Sci-Fi hit, Red Dwarf (TV series) [3]

Williams was cast at a very young age as a lead host/actress in the top rated live TV show, Ghost Train (TV series) [4]. After three successful seasons she branched out into hosting many other TV shows on the UK’s top TV channels; her interviewees include Johnny Depp, Dame Judi Dench, Paul Haggis, Hilary Swank, and Brenda Blethyn. Having no formal training when she started, Williams wanted to bring other newcomers to hosting. She formed Presenter-Led Productions with historian and host Bettany Hughes. They are responsible for training some of Britain's top hosts.

Williams has been a proud member of The Actors' Gang[5] (Artistic Dir.Tim Robbins), leading in several shows including Moliere’s Tartuffe [6] and Shakespeare’s Love's Labour's Lost. She conceived and helms The Actors Gang Prison Project, which is successfully helping to rehabilitate inmates in Southern Californian prisons. Williams played Sondra, Kyle Maclachlan's love interest in the ABC series, In Justice [7], was cast opposite Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible 3 as Annie Miller, featured as Leela in the backdoor pilot, Tretch, and recently worked on the short films, Macbeth as Lady Macbeth, A Little Light and the feature, Til We Get to Baraboo. She is the host of On The Bench on Setanta Sports.

Williams is a long time practicing Buddhist and part of the movement for peace, culture and education known as Soka Gakkai International. She also loves soccer and is a third generation Arsenal supporter aka a Gooner.
