[edit] Early life

Sabine Singh, the daughter of an Indian Maharaja father and an Austrian beauty queen mother, was born in Suffern, New York where, as a young girl, she divided her attentions between dance and theater. A student at The University of Michigan, Singh ultimately matriculated to NYU's Tisch School of the Arts where she concentrated on acting, earning her BFA.

[edit] Career

Her film credits include Maryam, The Anarchist Cookbook, Ricky Six, and Tony Goldwyn's Someone Like You. On TV she has been seen as Martha Stewart's daughter Lexi, in Martha Behind Bars featuring Cybill Shepherd, in a recurring role on Dawson's Creek, on Las Vegas, The Sopranos, CSI: NY, Charmed and Unscripted as herself, among many others. She has also starred in the Disney's television movie Nancy Drew as Allison Price.

Singh's main love is theater, and was a founding resident company member of Jim Simpson's and Mac Wellman's award winning The Flea Theater. She recently appeared off-Broadway as "Olivia" in the critically-acclaimed production of The Gold Standard, a play by Daniel Roberts.

Singh debuted in the role of Greenlee Smythe on All My Children, replacing Rebecca Budig after a two-year absence on April 20, 2007. In December 2007, it was announced that she was fired from the role, and was replaced by Budig. The producers of AMC decided to let Singh out of her contract in order to bring back the original actress, which sparked a firestorm of controversy because of how Singh was treated and let go. Many fans were appalled by the commercials that ABC put out calling Budig the "Real" Greenlee.[citation needed] She last aired on All My Children on January 15, 2008. Budig returned the next day.

Since her exit from All My Children, Singh is returning to theater work and will appear in The Euthanasiast — Liza Lentini's exploration of care-givers and the right to die — at PS 122 in New York City. The Euthanasiast opens May 31, 2008 and will play a limited engagement through June 15.

[edit] Personal life

Singh divides her time between New York, Los Angeles, and London.
