Smiley Template
After some thought I decided to create this smiley template, as I thought most of the arguments in the talk pages are due to misinterpretaion of what is being said, hopefully these smileys will help us (at least me !!) communicate in a much more friendly manner. Hope you all will like it.

Islam-History section
Hi Sa.Vakilian,
I agree with your suggestions and it can be significantly improved. I am just looking for some free time to spend on that. It feels scary to start editing such a section :) --Aminz 09:18, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
- But please no tagging for today. It is because now it is at main page. We will improve it later. Wassalam. --- A. L. M. 08:10, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

- sorry I have just notice that you have not put the tag. --- A. L. M. 08:12, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

- I have looked at it (not in detail). I think there need changes and there are wrong things. But I am only saying no tag for today, because it is on main page. We will edit it tomorrow. My point of view is that no one should edit article today. --- A. L. M. 08:24, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

Re:Islamist terrorism
No it is not. The name itself violates NPOV. The article call each criminal as terrorist etc... --- A. L. M. 08:36, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
Re: Five Pillars of Islam
Yes it looks good now. Thanks for your work on it. Can you please provide reference for "Technically the Shi'a do not consider the shahadah to be a separate pillar, but connects it to the beliefs.". Good luck!. Also take suggestions of Aminz and Itaqallah. May be they can improve a bit before nomination. Wassalam. --- A. L. M. 07:48, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

July 2007 GAC backlog elimination drive
A new elimination drive of the backlog at Wikipedia:Good article candidates will take place from the month of July through August 12, 2007. There are currently about 130 articles that need to be reviewed right now. If you are interested in helping with the drive, then please visit Wikipedia:Good article candidates backlog elimination drive and record the articles that you have reviewed. Awards will be given based on the number of reviews completed. Since the potential amount of reviewers may significantly increase, please make sure to add :{{GAReview}} underneath the article you are reviewing to ensure that only one person is reviewing each article. Additionally, the GA criteria may have been modified since your last review, so look over the criteria again to help you to determine if a candidate is GA-worthy. If you have any questions about this drive or the review process, leave a message on the drive's talk page. Please help to eradicate the backlog to cut down on the waiting time for articles to be reviewed.
You have received this message either due to your membership with WikiProject: Good Articles and/or your inclusion on the Wikipedia:Good article candidates/List of reviewers. --Nehrams2020 23:44, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Muslim military history & Iranian military history

Re: Islamic/Muslim military history task force
The actual creation of the task force infrastructure is fairly convoluted and rather time-consuming, but I (or one of the other coordinators) can take care of that for you. All you need to do at this point is have the interested editors leave a note to that effect in the discussion on the project talk page; assuming that nobody comes up with a major objection to the name/scope of the task force in the next few days, we'll go ahead and formally create it then. Kirill 23:54, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
- Just in case you don't have it watchlisted: there's some discussion at WT:MILHIST#Islamic military history task force regarding what the best name for this would be, so you might want to comment if you have any insight on good terminology to use. Thanks! Kirill 05:27, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
crossbow
Could you help us to get the crossbow article in shape. it suffers heavily from behind eurocentric, while footstrapped crossbows did play an important role in Muslim warfare since the crusades. Greetings Wandalstouring 15:31, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Al-Farabi
Hi, Sa. Thanks for taking the time to review the article; it's much appreciated. Actually, I am not quite familiar with the subject nor its domain, and I nominated it for GA-status because it seemed like a potential good article. However, I will try to help with whatever I can on some of the advice you provided in your review. The problem is, though, that I have no printed sources whatsoever and no public library (of the very few libraries) is near where I live currently. Once again, thanks for everything. Cheers, Anas talk? 18:53, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, Sa. I think you can pull the plug on this one. I don't think I have enough energy to work on any articles this period; I'm too bonked. Thanks, anyway! —Anas talk? 10:34, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Hizbullah.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Hizbullah.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Bleh999 04:00, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:Alhazen's book.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Alhazen's book.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Carl (CBM · talk) 02:00, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Imam_in_Mehrabad.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Unusual Adoption Request
Hi! Im an English teacher in Toluca Mexico (west of Mexico City). My Advanced B classes will be contributing to Wikipedia as the focus of their English course for Fall 2007. I am looking for people who would like to mentor my students (who will be working in groups) as they do the following assignments: Edit and article (adding a citation), writing a stub with a citation, translating an English language article for Spanish Wikipedia and for the final project, writing a full article for English Wiki (they can expand on the stub mentioned previously). What I would like to do is put a list of "mentors/adopters" on my talk page as a kind of short cut for my students, who have limited time to get things done. The semester begings Aug 6, but the real Wikipedia work wont begin until the beginning of Sept. If you would like to add your name to my list, please go to my talk page and add it there, perhaps with a short introduction, if you like.
Thank you!

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Hizbullah.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Hizbullah.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 08:48, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

History of Iran
Hi Sa.vakilian, I saw that you had left a comment on my page about this article. I looked over it today, and it is much better than when I saw it before. I saw that much had been spun off in an excellent Islamic Conquest of Iran sub-article full of interesting information. Thanks for your great work.
The main problem that I saw today in the History of Iran article was that sections seem to be written by a non-native-speaker. I went through to clean up the grammar, and found myself seriously editing the section, though I tried to not alter the meaning. I think I can tell what you wrote and what you didn't since I suspect that you wrote all the sections with good grammar. But, when you return, can you go through and look at it again to make sure I didn't screw things up too badly?

Re: Your reversion
I agree that "Israel's attack against Hezbollah is important" and that "Hezbollah has killed and has been killed," but the way you worded the sentence made it look like Hezbollah and Lebanese civilians and infrastructure were one and the same or that Hezbollah was defending Lebanese civilian and infrastucture (they were not) or that Hezbollah and the Lebanese Armed Forces are one and the same. This isn't fair to Israel and it certainly isn't fair to Lebanese civilian bystanders. --GHcool 18:55, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Problems at Hezbollah page
If you have time, please take a look at the talk page of the Hezbollah article. I tried to edit in some information about the assassination, assassination attempt and kidnapping of Hezbollah leaders, but there is some strong opposition to this. I'm not able to discuss this after today for a few days because I'll be too busy with other things. Basically my point is that one can have legitimate discussions on how to mention these facts but not on wheter or not to mention it at all.
So, it was not ok. by GHCool to change the titles of the sections so that it wouldn't fit in these sections and then to delete this information on the grounds that it doesn't fit. That's the wrong way of addressing this issue. Anyway, I've reverted that action by GHCool, but I'm not going to revert anymore. Count Iblis 18:01, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
