Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the external links you added do not comply with our guidelines for external links. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. --AbsolutDan (talk) 23:51, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

The interview itself isn't spam, but the source was. Material ought to be published in a reliable source to be considered a good source of information, and blogs almost always fail this test. If you disagree, however, you're welcome to post your thoughts to the article's talk page here: Talk:Jimmy Wales. If a consensus of regular editors agree that the link is worth including, then it can be re-added to the article. I hope this helps --AbsolutDan (talk) 00:33, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Ok, thank you for the explanation, this was my first attempt to contribute to Wikipedia. Though I have seen numerous links from TechCrunch, Mashable and other blogs in Wikipedia articles so I thought I could give it a try myself. I have not thought about discussing it on the article's talk page prior to posting but I'll definitely follow this rule from now on, thank you for the explanation. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by S Gladkova (talkcontribs) 06:12, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

You're welcome. If you see other links that are not appropriate, feel free to remove them yourself. A great deal of spam slips past us! If you're ever unsure, you can use the same talk page technique to ask others if they feel the link is appropriate. Cheers --AbsolutDan (talk) 23:18, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
