Séance on a Wet Afternoon (1964) is a British film which tells the story of a self-described psychic who convinces her husband to kidnap a child so that she can gain fame by using her "psychic abilities" to find the girl. It stars Kim Stanley and Richard Attenborough.
The film was directed by Bryan Forbes, who also wrote the screenplay, which was adapted from the novel by Mark McShane. Forbes's script earned him a 1965 Edgar Award from the Mystery Writers of America.
The soundtrack was composed by James Bond film pioneer John Barry.
