São José de Ubá

Coordinates: 21°21′28″S, 41°56′34″W São José de Ubá is a municipality located in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro. Its population was 6,689 (2005) and its area is 251 km².[1]

It is a very delightful village located in the north west region of the state of Rio de Janeiro. Hosting one of the highest rates of entrapenuers this town offers a sense of old Brazil. You are as likely to pass a cavalero on horse back as a car on the streets. The City is full of pride and the local mayor has instituted a clean city campaign resulting in clean and safe city streets. This has transended into a community pride unseen anywhere else in Brazil. Should you drop something the citizens will not just point it out but pick it up and hand it back to you. The small shops offer everything you will need from fresh milk, bread and meats to any of the big city comfort items. Should the shop not have what you are looking for just ask and they will direct you to the nearest shop offering that item.
