Sándor Terplán

Sándor Terplán Slovene: Aleksander Terplan or Trpljan (Ivanovci, about May 1, 1816. – Puconci, March 18, 1858.) Hungarian Slovenian Evangelical priest and writer.
Born into the Prekmurje in Kingdom of Hungary, in a evangelical family. Therefrom village few priest born, such people as was literateurs or gentilitial politicans, such as József Borovnják and Ferenc Ivanóczy.
Terplán's father Iván Terplan was tailor and wine-merchant. Mother Zsuzsanna Berke aunt of writer Iván Berke.
Sándor Terplan learnt in the elementary school's of Domanjševci and Szentgyörgyvölgy, in the Őrség. In 1828 study theology in Kőszeg and Sopron. In 1837 was get scholarship and go in Vienna.
At first was chaplain in Puconci, near Murska Sobota. He was lived a teacher István Lülik where in 1833 wrote a perkmurian ABC and geography book.
Up 1843 lived in Szombathely, last it the pastor of Puconci. Death in 42 year temp.
Terplán very much make for the Slovenes. Was be connected with the murian literatuers, such as Rudolf Czipott and János Kardos. First work a prayer-book by the burials and the vigils (1838). Item wrote a ABC book and a plaams book.
