Sockpuppetry...Maybe?
Just a heads up on the sockpuppetry issue again. Although not blantantly obvious (at least as of yet), I suspect that the recently-created account Ps3queen might be another puppet of you know who. The first edits made by this user seem to deal with creating a bunch of pages for episodes that haven't aired in both English and Japanese yet, with attention to the images again, then posting the links to those pages over the Japanese titles on the episode list. While it isn't 100%, this sort of activity was undertaken by Bobabobabo before, and I think it would be wise to investigate into it just in case.
Edit: Just let me say this; it seems very strange that a new user account would just pop up overnight and suddenly begin editing in a manner such as this (and in such a linear fashion as well, going from one episode to another). --Benten 01:59, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

- All of that is irrelevant. Pictures on Wikipedia are not covered by Florida law. We can have pictures of naked men or women on Wikipedia, when it is forbidden to do so in real life in whatever place it is. Similarly, the deletion of the picture has nothing to do with it now. All of that is true except the part about there being "no free alternatives for a porn star". Porn stars, like other celebrities, make public appearances where they can be photographed. Please read WP:FU and note Counterexample #8: images being used to show what living people look like are not covered by Wikipedia's fair use policy. Therefore I am reverting your removal of the "replaceable" tag from Image:Pavel.jpg. —Angr 10:59, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

- That would be great, but it isn't required. Fair use criterion #1 says "No free equivalent is available or could be created that would adequately give the same information." The fact that no free equivalent has yet been found is irrelevant. The image already violates Wikipedia policy, even before a free equivalent has been found or created. —Angr 11:08, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
- Would a DVD cover suffice, then? I'm sure I can find one somewhere.—Řÿūłóñģ (竜龍) 11:24, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
- No, DVD covers are also copyrighted. The best way to get a free image of a celebrity is either (1) find out where they're next going to appear in public, find a Wikipedian who lives nearby, and get them to take a picture, or (2) write to the celeb's agency and ask them to release a publicity image under a free license (GFDL, CC-BY, CC-BY-SA). They should e-mail a copy their agreement to these terms to permissions@wikimedia.org. —Angr 11:29, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Tennislover
In this edit, you implied that Tennislover is a confirmed sockpuppet of Cute 1 4 u. My understanding is that this has not been established by a checkuser. Certainly, I've suspected this but all of my investigations into the matter have shown that this is actually unlikely and so I currently believe they are two independent accounts. I see that you subsequently reverted this claim. However, another admin blocked the user as a sockpuppet. Could you please follow up with an explanation of what happened? Thanks. --Yamla 23:32, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
- Dmcdevit did a checkuser on a user who was suspected to be Cute 1 4 u, which was User:Tennislover, based off of known information about the IPs she had used when she was initially banned. User:Tennis expert (from what I can glean from the information provided to me by Dmcdevit) was also on the same range when compared against the IPs. Additionally, User:Twister Twist was also involved on these IPs.—Řÿūłóñģ (竜龍) 23:37, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
You said: "Tennislover's IP was tested against known IPs utilized by Cute 1 4 u. They matched. Larger explanation at my talk."
- Dmcdevit said: "Correct. There were suspicions; it sounds like you had them too. And a checkuser verified the identity: I wouldn't have blocked without it. (You said "I'd welcome any evidence you have that this is a sock" so I'm thinking maybe you didn't realize that...?) In any case, I'm very convinced."
-
- Okay, thanks you two. The checkuser page at Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Cute 1 4 u made no mention of this check and so I was just making sure that a checkuser really had been performed and that this wasn't just a situation where someone jumped the gun. You've certainly convinced me. Now, if only there was some way to stop future sockpuppets which we know are going to be created. --Yamla 23:48, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
Period at the end of formula
Hi. I undid your removal of periods at the end of formulas. Per the math style manual and established mathematical practice, if a formula is at the end of a sentence, it should have a period. Sockpuppetry
Hey Ryulong, I've found definitive evidence of Ps3queen being one of you know who's sockpuppets. If you look at this recent post on Janime forums, you'll see that Bobabobabo, who has long been using the username "Yugigx60" (an exact reflection of the Yugigx60 sockpuppet that is currently banned), is yelling at Horoko (a main translator for GX-related matters) for "not being able to translate properly"; compare the statement there to the recent edit that Ps3queen made to the media and release page of "incorrect translation for 絶体絶命 - In a Tight Spot - ピンチに陥って", and it becomes obvious that it's Bobabobabo. Also, note the same interests of Pokemon and GX images that she has in her signature space (look familiar to Bobabobabo's old user page?)
http://janime.eu/showthread.php?t=15680
--Benten 00:25, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
Edit: One more thing that makes it obvious: The user's avatar is made up of some of the same images that were removed from the media and release article. --Benten 01:23, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
Edit 2: Oh, I also just received a PM from the user on Janime as well, in defense of the sockpuppet suspicion. As you can see, this user is very thorough on the "stolen names from bulbapedia," giving me an entire list. Clearly, of course, how this user is even so aware of these sorts of abuse by Bobabobabo seals all doubt that this is another sockpuppet. With the exception of my signature at the bottom, all the information below was provided by the user at Janime.
I am not a sock puppet to you know, besides the account on the Janime forums account being similar to another account to you know, he stole that name.
He has recently been doing similar stuff on Bulbapedia, where he stole exsiting user names

Ggnext's behavior
Yah, it's WP:POINT, but what harm in leaving the comments? It is somewhat of a double standard that articles on other major forums are allowed to remain when GenMay's article was deleted. I agree with removing the article tag because the action is so unilateral, but surely talk page discussion on its notability would be productive. Sorry to clash with you here. – Lantoka (talk) 21:51, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
- Because he'd get shot down immediately by any sort of normal editor to the page, and that would be feeding in the case for both websites.—Řÿūłóñģ (竜龍) 21:52, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
- I dunno man. Personally, I'd be pretty mad if I tried to start a deletion discussion on a talk page and somebody reverted it. In general I'm against outright removing comments, even inane ones. Merging monsters and villains
I'm not quite sure how or why villains and monsters get their own pages. Having a big major villain is notable; a list of monsters, the majority of whom usually only appear in one episode, is really not. I mean, there isn't any information about bit characters - stuff like Ben (Madison's new friend in MF), Kelsey's (from LSR) astronut friend, etc. Do you support the idea to merge monster and demon articles into villain articles? I.e. merging List of demons in Power Rangers: Lightspeed Rescue into Villains in Power Rangers: Lightspeed Rescue. Hbdragon88 02:39, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
- Similiarly (but separately), the Villains in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers article looks kinda weird without Rita, Zedd, et. al. in the article. I don't know if I'm necessarily for shoving Rita, Zedd, et. al. into that article, but perhaps Goldar, et. al. would be better off in the monster articles? Just food for thought. JPG-GR 05:13, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
- Monsters genreally have a list. Villains seem to get their own articles (Rita and Zedd do), and there is a Minor Power Rangers characters page somewhere.—Řÿūłóñģ (竜龍) 05:54, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

- There are no other "Spirulina" pages. It's unnecessary disambiguation.—Řÿūłóñģ (竜龍) 05:55, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
- Not trying to be rude, but I'm wondering if you missed the point -- the food supplement actually has nothing to do with the genera "Spirulina." At some point someone will want to make a page on that unrelated Genera, and they ought to have the name since the food supplement's name is a misnomer. I'd be willing to start the other page if that would make a difference. Perdita 18:13, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Possible sockpuppetry
Having suspicions that 70.86.20.178 might be another sockpuppet; same interests, and this thread on Janime forums (which she replied to recently) brought up tv.com's "information" which was added to the Society of Light page:

Anyway, the gist of the discussion is that another user brought up the links to tv.com's entries for the episodes coming up in the next two weeks, and those are the exact same links that were provided by 70.86.20.178 when editing the Society of Light article. Upon looking in this user's edit history (aside from the same interests), one of the edits was to the One Piece talk page: [3]. You know who has been making the exact same sorts of comments over at the forums:
-
- Examples include:
-
- "I wonder if 4kids will stop dubbing Yu-Gi-OH GX?"
-
- "What do you mean about 4kids dropping One Piece? Did the anime fans win?"
- Okay, now it's really obvious. She just removed herself from the list on Wikipedia:AIV. --Benten 22:57, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Sorry I didn't do this earlier; thanks for reverting the vandalism done to my User Page. Luna Santin and I have dealt with the User and his sockpuppet. Opronc was the original, Opronc-oA was the sockpuppet. Again, thanks for the revert. Acalamari 00:49, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
Super Hero Time combination?
I've been flipping around the Japan Wiki, and i noticed that the preceded/followed by boxes in the Tokusastus Articles of Kamen Rider and Super Sentai were combined. Could something like that possibly be integrated here? Floria L 16:51, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
- That has mainly been done because Kamen Rider and Super Sentai are aired as part of a Sunday morning television block called "Super Hero Time," and because of the longer hiatus between Black RX and Kuuga, I don't think that a combined infobox will be very practical for use on the English wiki, but you can bring it up at WP:TOKU's talk page, and we'll see what others think.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 22:11, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

White Night's Dragon! Judai vs. Asuka (Part 2)
You've tagged this for speedy deletion on the grounds that it was created by a banned user (User:Titanicprincess). You've also tagged the User page, saying that Titanicprincess has been indefinitely blocked. The page was obviously created before any such ban, so what exctly are the grounds for deleting it? I take it that you're not an admin (otherwise you wouldn't have to use speedy tags); could you explain your grounds for these claims before I act on them? Thanks. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 13:13, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
- That page was not made before the ban, it was made during the ban of the original user.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 22:04, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
-
- I haven't been able to find any confirmation that this is a sockpuppet; I'm sure you realise that articles can't be deleted simply because one user accuses another of being a sockpuppet. Could you point me to some evidence for or "official" confirmation of sockpuppetry in this case?
- In the meantime, please stop adding the speedy tag to the page. If what you claim is confirmed, then I'll delete the article. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 09:29, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
- I requested that Raul654 perform a checkuser on a known IP of Bobabobabo. Two usernames came up, one of which was Titanicprincess. I checked the contributions of the user, and confirmed that it was exactly the same pattern of contributions of Bobabobabo, of which all known sockpuppets can be found here. The use of "RV" and an unhealthy focus on Yu-Gi-Oh! That combined with evidence from an e-mail sent to me by the latest user that is exactly the same as an e-mail address of an earlier confirmed sockpuppet. It is all of this that has confirmed it for me.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 09:37, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Great, thanks; I've deleted it. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 19:29, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

I think the SAF Games article has much more details of the games than the article South Asian Games . I will suggest that we redirect South Asian Games to SAf Games. I have revereted the contents of the SAF Games and I will Redirect the South Asian Games page to SAf Games Page . Please write to me on thesze article . I will take charge of any updation related to them . I have created the SAf Games after thorough analysis and study.

- Ok, I see that, why did you revert my copyright violation tag? - IMO, the image isn't worth the dispute. I only have concern about it because I figure it's better to get the right image now then to use an improper image and have it removed later after the subject is deceased or out of the public eye. I don't know why they're so vehement about being right or wrong, it's just a photo. I will continue the discussion on commons, but I suspect it will be deleted as there seems to be 3 independent copyright claims and none of them state free use. Alan.ca 05:19, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

4chan
Hi! I noticed you reverted some of my changes to 4chan. Unfortunately, under WP:V and WP:NOR, if something can't be referenced or verified it doesn't belong in the article. Opinions that can't be referenced are more than likely weasel words and shouldn't be included. I put back the fact and originalresearch tags, since these are both problems with the article that need fixing. Thanks! : ) - Chardish 08:55, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
- Working on it.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 08:57, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
- If a statement can't be sourced it shouldn't be in the article. The standard for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth - in other words, there needs to be an easy way for a reader to go to the source and verify that the statement is true. In short: if you have a source for a statement, cite it! If you don't have a source, the statement probably doesn't belong in the article...I added a section about this on Talk:4chan; we should continue discussion there. Thanks! : ) - Chardish 09:03, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

Re: Dates
The overall Wiki guide is pretty clear: cardinal numbers not ordinals, full name for the month, and 4 digits for the year. Beyond that, it seems to be a matter of choice and consistency.
As a side note, I can see the reason for "name" and "4 digit" criteria: seeing something "01-06-03" is exceedingly confusing, It could be any of the following:
- January 6, 2003
- January 3, 2006
- June 1, 2003
- June 3, 2001
- March 1, 2006
- March 6, 2001
I've run into this problem where I work, where it's common to use the 6 digits, but there is no consistency to the sequence.
As for the follow up on the Time Force article, it was as much about consistency as about the month format.
Thanks for listening... — J Greb 04:53, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
- Well, the formatting I've used to link is 2006-12-24 (for the current date) which turns into whatever is the choice of the user, which would be 2006-12-24. I did not put the ordinals in, another user did, and I screwed up in reverting him. However, while it's probably better to use December 24 2006, both end up becoming the same thing to registered users who have changed their preferences.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 04:56, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

Sofixit
Ryulong, this seems unneededly patronizing. Granted, it wasn't exactly a situation that needed immediate admin attention (GurchBot 2 doesn't need a block or anything), but users have reason to be concerned/confused when they find themselves in conflict with a bot. In my opinion, sofixit is ideal for just-registered/un-registered newbies who are complaining about a mistaken birthdate or clunky prose - not for users who have been here for over a month who are bringing things up on the AN. Could I request that you take the time to type out a real response if this sort of thing comes up again? Picaroon 04:15, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

Billy Cranston
Why'd you move it back from Billy (Power Rangers)? It's not canon. It was not mentioned in the show (or so the notation on his last name says). According to DrachenFyre, it was in some official press releases or something [4]. If you can find the the exact press release, I'll let the article remain where it is now. We can't just say "oh I heard it somewhere" and use it (aka adding Ron Jeremy's penis size and slapping a cn or not); we have to go with what's verifable, and the show does not state his name. Hbdragon88 02:40, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
- But it is stated somewhere. While I do not have this press release, nor know where to find it, it is a name that is used.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 02:43, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

- I'll find it.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 02:59, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
- Such as on IMDb.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 02:59, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
- Forgive my ignorance, but are we SERIOUSLY considering IMDB a credible source here at WP? For a brief period in the year 2000, -I- was listed as a Power Ranger on PRWF. Regardless -- Cranston has never been stated in any official document, HOWEVER the crew has used it as canon in the years after the charcter left the show. It's a generally accepted truth -- don't know how good that is for WP, though. JPG-GR 07:33, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

I concur with JPG-GR and will be moving the page back in 24 hours... Hbdragon88 23:45, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
- The name is considered part of the canon and it is also used for uniformity. The page should stay with a last name, as that is how it widely believed to be as such.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 00:24, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, but Wikipedia doesn't cater to what's widely believed; it caters to what is verifable and reliable. Also, Jen (Power Rangers) is titled like so as well (which was moved in May 2005). Hbdragon88 01:07, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- Wikipedia does however say that you should use the most common name.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 01:09, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, if it's documented. JPG-GR and Jgp have both voiced doubts that IMDb can be considered a reliable soruce. Hbdragon88 01:18, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

I thought that the Power Rangers movie is not considered canon because of its differing portrayal of certain events? Hbdragon88 22:45, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- The events within the movie are not considered cannon. Just because I found the last name "Cranston" connected with Billy on Amazon.com's page for the movie's VHS does not mean that the name is not canon. But this was just the first Mighty Morphin Power Rangers item found on an Amazon.com search, and the cast list stuff doesn't seem to help me out. But that sure is one hot Putty.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 22:50, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- Wait, what the hell? Seriously. They list the eight peopole who supposedly played Putty Patrollers, but only one of the five Rangers (Aisha). They list every other minor cast member (villains, Alpha 5). They also list Young Billy (1996) when he would have not appeared in the 1993 episode...but anyway, I actually _don't_ know if Amazon.com is reliable enough. Hbdragon88 23:00, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- But it is another source that lists Billy's last name as evident solely within the merchandise, which has been accepted as canon by the fandom. Rocky's surname was a bit of a stretch, and I don't know where Jen's surname came from, but Billy's surname does exist within Saban materials.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 23:02, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

Alright then, I guess I'm satisfied. DrachenFyre also said that Scotts came from official Saban material too ("press releases" was the specific media), and both DeSantos and Scotts have proliferated to IMDb as well... Hbdragon88 23:17, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
Power Rangers
Sorry about the "bad" RV. I tried to bring it back to a good point... Mike6271 04:33, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
- That's all right. It's just odd that your revert brought back such a vandalous edit.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 04:38, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
Quick question about KR template
I've been trying to figure this out for a while, but how exaclty can you place the V - D - E onto templates? | Floria L 08:36, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
- It's a template itself. Tnavbar-header.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 08:40, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

Bridge Carson & Sky Tate
Just keep an eye out for Red Ranger 1 (talk · contribs) who is persistent in changing the picture in those articles. I've had to revert them again and had left him a short explanation, I just hope he listens instead of changing it again, but I'm not holding my breath.
Oh, and in the meantime, I've used the BridgeBlue pic in a separate part of the Bridge article as a thumb with the Caption "Bridge at the end of SPD". --Arnzy (talk • contribs) 04:56, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
