Ryo Kimura

Ryo Kimura (木村 了 Kimura Ryou?, September 23, 1988–) is a Japanese actor who debuted in 2003. His first movie was Moonlight Jellyfish, in which he co-starred with Tatsuya Fujiwara. He played the role of Michio, a mentally-challenged 15-year-old boy diagnosed with an incurable skin disease called XP (Xeroderma Pigmentosum).

  • He won the Special Prize in the 2002 season of Junon Super Boy Contest.
  • His speciality sports is Karate, and has achieved a second degree black belt.
  • His favourite animal is cat, and has a pet cat called "Momoko".
  • He has been playing his favourite sport, basketball, since he was 10 years old.
  • He graduated from Tokyo Jiyuu Gakuen[1] Multi-Talent course on 2007.

Tokyo Jiyuu Gakuen is a special school which has two courses: "Music" and "Multi-Talent" (Specially targeted for students who are currently/working towards to be an artist).

  • He enjoys surfing and has actually portrayed "surfer roles" a number of times already (as Masaya in Xmas Nante Daikirai, Ken in Karera no Umi VII, and Masato in Catch A Wave).
  • He plays the drums, a skill that came in handy while filming Hana Kimi because Dorm 2, his character Nakao's dorm, had to do a band performance during one of the episodes.
