The Ryerson Students’ Union (or RSU) is local 24 of the Canadian Federation of Students. It is a body that represents Ryerson University’s full-time undergraduate and graduate students. The organization was known as the Ryerson Students’ Administrative Council since 1995, until the board of directors voted to change the organization’s name back to its previous name of the Ryerson Students Union in May 2005, a decision that was officially endorsed by the membership at the Semi Annual General Meeting in November 2005.
[edit] The Board
The Board of Directors and the executive manage the day-to-day operations of the corporation. Students elect 1, 3, 4, or 5 members from each faculty, depending on the size of the faculty, to the board, in addition to student representatives from the University’s Academic Council and the Board of Governors of the University.
