Please do not add information unless it has a source. I have recently, and will continue to remove unsourced additions until they are referenced. I cannot emphasize strongly enough that statements without reliable sources are not to be added. What I remove constitutes original research. Again, please do not add unsourced facts.JameยงugronoContributions 12:15, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Removed Statement
removed this statement:
- ...is also made poorer than the rest of Sydney due to the large number of people with mental problems. They are service [by North Ryde asylum]
it seems dubious, some statistics and studies should be cited. it isn't clear to me that mental patients would necessarily make an area "poorer" (which this statement implies is cause-and-effect), nor is it clear what percentage of the population are mentally ill, or are patients or former patients of the hospitals in question. until this is rewritten with some citations and backup evidence in a NPOV manner, it should not be mentioned. clarkk 08:56, 23 Apr 2004 (UTC)
added a reference to Granny Smith and restored the page (bot?) M.e 08:54, 1 May 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Separate page for the Local Government Area
As per discussion at Talk:List of Sydney suburbs, I have created a separate page for the City of Ryde, the Local Government Area. -- Ianblair23 12:58, 30 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Top Ryde merge
I've merged in Top Ryde, which wasn't worth a page on its own. m.e. 08:22, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Rather than get into a revert war
The statement that the shopping center is a youth meeting point has little or no encyclopedic value, I edited it, it got edited back, does anyone have any thoughts on why this has any value to wikipedia at all? Elomis 05:06, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
- I suppose that that statement would give some cultural information about the area, but i can't be entirely sure about that. But that's what it seems to me. However, I won't be adding it as it seems to be original research, and even if it was, it is no longer true.----JamesSugronoU|C 14:01, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Clean Up
There is a great need to remove unverified facts. Additionally, I am concerned that the section Churches has been created simply state that the lady who first grew the Granny SMith apple is buried at a chruch in Ryde. This is one of those unverified statements that I was referring to earlier. I am now placing a two-month deadline on this page, before I start to cull unverified and irrelevant information, including the somewhat random statements about Santa Rosa Park, which does not seem to meet notability guidelines. Of course, anyone may revert me, but please tell me why, especially if I would be in violation of Wikipedia's guidelines, as I would like to know. In the meantime, I am giving some statements {{cn}} tags. These are starting points to improve the verifability of the article. Please add some notable content to the subsections.----JamesSugronoU|C 14:01, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
- I can add a fully sourced section on the Royal Rehabilitation Centre at Ryde if you think it's important enough. I could put it under a facilities header. Let me know... Pure motion 10:17, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
