Ryan C. McDevitt (b. 5 January 1980) is an American economist. He received his B.A. in economics from Williams College and is working towards a Ph.D. in Economics from Northwestern University.
His research focus has been on microeconomics. McDevitt is perhaps most famous for his pioneering work with the Hero Squad, an informal collaborative group that pursues economic study and research.
Prior to attending Northwestern, Ryan studied mathematics at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and worked in the Investment Banking Division at Morgan Stanley.

In athletics, he has shown much potential but has been hampered by a number of injury problems. However, currently he plays 3rd base for the $2 PBRs, a ragtag bunch of economists.
