Basic Information
Hello. My name is Ryan James, from Fort Mill, South Carolina in the U.S.. I used to enjoy using the Wikipedia solely because it is so easy and simple to change, and because my erratic social life gave me a lot of time for editing. Now I like it because I've been here a really long time and my opinions tend to carry a lot of weight and it makes me feel important. A bit more about myself: I was born in Milwaukee, and lived in Mequon, Wisconsin until I was 14. I moved to Crystal Lake just in time to start high school. I lived in Crystal Lake for four years, at times both hating and loving my little suburb, but eventually completing high school. In my spare time, my hobbies are learning foreign languages, (I am currently teaching myself Russian) and playing laser tag. I am a brother of Phi Delta Theta. I work at an amusement park. At least I get free admission, and the guarantee that I can be supervisor next year. From Choke:

Another recent example could be seen in the West Virginia Mountaineers losing to the struggling Pittsburgh Panthers on December 1, 2007, on their home field, with a berth to the BCS National Championship on the line. West Virginia remains the most winning team in NCAA history without a National Championship. |

I attend the University of Pittsburgh, where I am majoring in linguistics.
Beliefs
- Political
- I'm a Libertarian through and through. Many of my political opinions are unpopular, but I have a reputation for being wise as well, if somewhat immoderate. I know more about politics than any 30 people put together. I can name the governor of every state, 90 members of the Senate, more U.S. Representatives than showed up at your last family reunion, the heads of state of countries you probably didn't even know existed, and tell you why all of these people are important. Naturally, I detest politics and refuse to talk to anyone about it except for my close friends.
- Religious
- Always a complicated issue isn't it? If one wishes to split hairs, I am a non-practicing Roman Catholic.
- WikiPhilosophical
- My WikiPhilosophy is pretty positive, and after having read about various philosophies about Wikipedia, I have concluded that I was a fanatic inclusionist, but then again I joined when we had only 330,000 articles. Today I skew deletionist. I used to hate userboxes and I always secretly wished to destroy them, but I have learned to live with them. I think that notability standards are falling as we get bigger, and I'm fine with that. However, we must remember: To know everything is to lose all hope. (Mainly because we'll be bogged down in AfD discussions if we have everything.)
WikiActivities
I used to specialize in video games and climate, until I realized that specializing in something in Wikipedia is pointless. I still like to add climate sections to cities, especially those in my beloved Midwest, and I like to comment on RFAs when I get the chance. I am a member of the Spanish and German translation projects. I have successfully translated many articles from German to English at the present time, one from French, and one from Spanish. On July 26, 2006, I became an admin on a relatively narrow margin. I de facto run TfD. I'm always around, even if I'm not editing.
