Ryan Stock is a Canadian based TV stunt man with a show on the Discovery Channel called "Guinea Pig". Ryan and his fiancée Amber Lynn Walker travel around Canada and the United States and find tests such as being bitten by de-venomed snakes, and hitting 6 times the force of Gravity in a Snowbird aircraft.
[edit] The Jim Rose Circus
Ryan was also featured on the 2003 reality series The Jim Rose Twisted Tour, where he became a member of the travelling Jim Rose Circus after auditioning for Jim Rose while on the tour bus. He showed Jim Rose a few tricks he could do, for example: Running an electric drill directly into his nose (a variation of the "nail in the nose") and clamping a mousetrap to his tongue. He would use the alias Rupert while traveling with the circus. Some of his other acts included balancing a lawnmower on his chin while members of the audience threw lettuce at the revolving blades, and sticking a tube in his nose and into his stomach, whence Jim would pour Gatorade, chocolate sauce and ginseng into a large syringe and pump the contents into Ryan. Then Jim would proceed to pump the contents out again and pour them into a glass whereby he would ask the audience if anyone wanted a sip, Ryan would then proceed to gulp down the contents (to wild applause/gasps).
Ryan would become one of the most versatile and liked characters on the show, and Jim would recurringly ask Ryan to do things they encountered others doing, for example: sword swallowing, putting a hissing cockroach in his mouth and fire eating amongst other things.
Ryan is also an accomplished sleight of hand artist, showing many of his tricks and illusions along the tour. He is also believed to have coined the phrase "sleight of nose" for his ability to incorporate his nasal cavity in many of his magic tricks.
[edit] History
"Using a wide array of skills and his fascination with the resilience of the human body, Ryan developed a bizarre stunt show entitled "Don't Try This @ Home". He performed this solo act in bars, comedy clubs and street festivals across Canada for three years.
In August 2000, Ryan teamed up with AmberLynn, who quickly became not just his partner on stage but also his partner in life. Together they had a vision to create more than a just a show, so they created an entertainment experience that now includes everything from magic and balloon animals to stupid human tricks and super human stunts, all performed with a tongue-in-cheek presentation and a shocking display of physical control."[1]
