Ryan Stoa

Ryan Stoa (born April 13th, 1987 in Bloomington, MN) is an ice hockey forward currently playing for the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers. Stoa was named an alternate captain his junior season. He is a prospect of the Colorado Avalanche after he was drafted in the 2nd round, 34th overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
Stoa is 6'3", 213 lbs., and shoots left.

On October 13, 2007 while playing the University of Michigan Wolverines in just the second game of his junior season with the Gophers, Stoa suffered a season-ending knee injury. Later that Fall following a concussion to teammate Mike Howe, also an alternate captain, Stoa transferred his title to Blake Wheeler for him to bear for the remainder of the season.

As of May 13, 2008, Stoa was voted captain of the Minnesota Gophers men's ice hockey team by his teammates for the 2008-09 after missing the most of the 2007-08 season with a knee injury.
