[edit] Career
McCann began his career with Celtic, where he made one solitary appearance in an end of season game.
McCann then had a 6 month loan spell at St Johnstone, before heading to Hartlepool for over a year, where he only made 4 league appearances. McCann headed back to St Johnstone in September 2004, where he stayed for 2 years, amassing a total of 41 league appearances.
McCann was listed as a trialist in Clyde's third Scottish Football League First Division match of the season, against Dundee, and was signed on a permanent contract a week later. McCann's time at Clyde was interrupted with many niggling injuries.
In July 2007, McCann turned down a new contract at Clyde in favour of signing with Irish side Bohemians and scored his first goal for Bohs in a 1-1 draw with Drogheda United on 24 August 2007.
On November 16th 2007, McCann finished his short spell at Bohemians when it was decided that his contract was not to be renewed. He signed for Dumfries club Queen of the South on 29th December 2007 having trained with the club previously.
On March 8th 2008, McCann scored an estimated 80 yard goal for Queens in a famous 2-0 victory against Dundee to secure their first Scottish Cup quarter final victory since 1950.
