Ryan Johnson (ice hockey)

Ryan Johnson (born June 14, 1976) is a professional ice hockey player in the National Hockey League.

He was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario and was drafted by the Florida Panthers in round 2, #36 overall in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. He played for them on two different occasions and also with the Tampa Bay Lightning and currently with St. Louis.

He has always been praised as one of the best shot blocking forwards in the league, and due to this statistic he sees much time on the penalty killing unit. Recently, he blocked nine shots in one game against the Vancouver Canucks. While he broke his ankle doing so, he was widely praised for his heart and skill in performing this feat.

His older brother is Greg Johnson.
