Ryan Kristopher Houston (born 22 September 1979) is an American baseball pitcher in the Houston Astros organization.
Houston was born in Pensacola, Florida and did not attend college. He was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 31st round (921st overall) of 1998 amateur entry draft (June Regular Phase). He has yet to make his Major League debut.
He played for the Syracuse SkyChiefs and the New Hampshire Fisher Cats last season. He pitched a total of 51 games, had a 3.59 E.R.A., and struck out 79 batters in 72 2/3 innings.
In the 2006 Venezuelan Winter League, Houston finished the season 2-1 with a minuscule 0.32 ERA and six saves over 28 innings.
He was released by Blue Jays prior to the 2007 Rule 5 draft[1] and claimed off waivers by the Houston Astros on December 11, 2007.
