Ryan M. Hanigan (born August 16, 1980 in Washington D.C.) is a catcher for the Cincinnati Reds. Hanigan made his debut at the end of the 2007 season as a September call up from the Reds' 40-man roster. He debuted on September 9 as a pinch hitter, and recorded his first major league hit in that at-bat. Previously, his 2007 season had been split between time with the Reds AAA and AA affiliates, the Louisville Bats and the Chattanooga Lookouts. He is the first regular player from Rollins College since Clay Bellinger to appear in the Major Leagues.[citation needed]
