Ryan Foltz

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ryan Foltz is an American producer, audio engineer, and multi-talented musician from Cleveland, Ohio. A former member of Dropkick Murphys and the short lived, post-the GC5 project, Motel Blonde, Foltz now plays drums in Elephant Bones as well as tin whistle, trumpet, (and a little bit of everything else on occasion), in renowned The Pogues cover band, The Boys From The County Hell. His musical resume extends, however, beyond pop and punk rock to include the years he spent as a member of the World Class Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps.

Foltz is currently employed as touring monitor technician for Rancid, and has also toured doing sound for: Lars Frederiksen and the Bastards, Tim Armstrong, Dropkick Murphys, The Unseen, Tiger Army, Reach The Sky, and The Fags.

He also owns and solely operates Cleveland Audio Studios, his passion for more than 12 years. He built the entire studio himself without partners, investors, endorsements, interns, or a rich daddy. With extensive knowledge of not just music, but electronics as well, he knows every piece of equipment in that studio literally in and out and consistently turns out records that his clients can be proud of.

His studio clients and recording credits include: Roger Hoover and the Whiskeyhounds, The Hollywood Blondes, Motel Blonde, Devil Moto, The Doctor Teeeth, Russ Fink/The Easy Stars, Doug McKean & the Stuntmen, The Magpies, Skeemin' NoGoods, The Sex Crimes, the GC5, The Tall Pines, The Virus, Pitch The Peat, The Struttin' Cocks, Elephant Bones, The Jack Fords, Lost City Angels, Nick Wolff Band, and many more.

Foltz is also a vintage Dodge enthusiast and a skilled auto-mechanic. And when he's not busy playing or recording music, restoring old cars, playing with his two slightly defective dogs, tormenting his artist girlfriend, or generally being something of a jerk and a genius, he makes strange art and wrenches on scooters.
