Wanted poster for fugitives wanted for the w:Rwandan Genocide made by the US Government for the Rewards for Justice program to assist the w:International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. From: http://www.state.gov/r/pa/ei/pix/events/b/wc/17867.htm. The accompanying text states, in part:
"The U.S. Rewards for Justice program calls on citizens to do their part to contribute to international peace and justice. The program offers up to $5 million for information leading to the apprehension and transfer to the ICTR of persons indicted for war crimes. To date, the program has paid over $9.5 million to people who provided credible information that put terrorists or war criminals behind bars or prevented international acts of terrorism worldwide.
The fugitives from justice sought by this campaign continue to play a destructive role and are fueling the war that has gripped the Great Lakes region of central Africa for over half a decade. These indictees also form the leadership of a terrorist group, w:Army for the Liberation of Rwanda (ALIR) -- a group that is linked to the killing of American and British citizens in w:Bwindi National Park in w:Uganda in 1999. Only through arrest of persons indicted by the Tribunal, as well as the disarmament, demobilization, and repatriation of other combatants, will peace and stability return to the Great Lakes region of Africa.
