Ruth Nye

Ruth Nye, MBE, is a pianist and teacher of Australian origin. She was a pupil and companion of the great pianist Claudio Arrau for some 30 years up until his death in 1991. Nye had a career as a concert pianist before turning her attention to teaching. She has built a widespread reputation as one of the world's foremost piano teachers. Ruth Nye is currently on the faculty of the Yehudi Menuhin School in Surrey, UK and the Royal College of Music in London, UK. She holds master classes and lectures throughout the world. Ruth Nye was appointed MBE in the 2007 Queen's Birthday Honours list. Ruth grew up in Australia before moving to England to further her career, and also that of her husband Ross Nye. Together they currently live in London, England.
