Ruth Hale (playwright and actress)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ruth Hale (October 14, 1908 – April 20, 2003) was an American playwright and actress.
Ruth was born in Granger, Utah and was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She and her husband, James Nathan Hale, moved to California to seek out opportunities in Hollywood. They had little success landing film roles, so they founded the Glendale Centre Theater, and she wrote many plays. Soon, they and their family had opened a number of center stage theaters throughout Utah and Arizona. [1]
She is the grandmother of director Kurt Hale, actor Will Swenson and illustrator Nathan Hale.
