Ruth Correia Leite Cardoso (born 1930) is a Brazilian anthropologist and a former member of the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Human Sciences at the University of São Paulo (FFLCH-USP). She holds a Ph.D in anthropology.
As professor and researcher Cardoso has taught at the Latin American College of Social Sciences (Flacso/Unesco), University of Chile (Santiago), Maison des Sciences de L'Homme (Paris), University of California, Berkeley and Columbia University (New York).
She is an associate member of the Center for Latin American Studies of the University of Cambridge and member of the team of researchers at the Brazilian Center of Analysis and Planning (Cebrap - São Paulo).
She published some books and works on social immigration, movements, youth, medias of mass, violence, citizenship and work.
She is married to Fernando Henrique Cardoso, former president of Brazil. During her husband's presidency, she established and presided over the Solidary Community, current Comunitas, an organization responsible for social programs and volunteer work.
