Ruth Aylett (b. 1951) is Professor of Computer Science at the Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland. Born in London, she studied economics at the London School of Economics. Subsequently, she worked in computing and robotics at Sheffield Hallam University, the University of Edinburgh and finally the University of Salford. She is the author of Robots, a popular science book.
