[edit] Fair use claim for photo to be used in Babe Ruth article

This photo dates from 1935. The source of the photo is the book The Baseball Catalog, published by Jonathan David Publishers in 1980, authored by Dan Schlossberg. A specific photo credit is not given. At the beginning of the book is a page of acknowledgements, but no credits are listed for any photo. The Baseball Catalog is periodically updated as far as I know. I do not know if recent editions use this picture or not, but usually different editions use different photos.

A fair use claim is made for this picture to be used in the Babe Ruth article, in the section "The Last act: Return to Boston". This was Ruth's last year as a player, and detailed description of this season is given in the article. This photo is used to show Ruth at the end of a brilliant career, and how Ruth in a Braves uniform, after all his years in Yankee pinstripes, looks almost out of place. A brief disastrous couple months in Boston, Ruth's face seems to show the frustration of the season and him knowing that all of his athletics skills are all but gone.

This photo size used in this article is smaller than its source, with the resolution similar. The use of this photo is for informational and educational purposes only.
