This is a still photo from a 16mm film shot by Matt Kandle in 1932. The source of this photo is the book, The Babe: A Life in Pictures, written by Lawrence Ritter and Mark Rucker and published by Ticknor and Fields in 1988. Photo/Film copyright is owned by Kirk M. Kandle. The still shots from the 16 mm film have been licenses to many major publications since then. The film itselt has been shown on network television and was used in Ken Burns documentary on baseball that came out in 1994. It was used in an ESPN Classic program about Ruth.

The purpose of this illustration is strictly for educational use, and is restricted to Babe Ruth's called shot and possibly to 1932 World Series in case someone decides to merge the articles, as the former is a specific event within the latter.

The film is not conclusive, but is the best evidence there is. The use of this photo is almost a must in an article that goes into significant detail on the called shot.

The rare film footage is available for limited use. For more information, contact: Kyle Anne Citrynell Seiller & Waterman 200 Meidinger Tower Louisville, Kentucky 40202 (502) 584-7400 Fax: (502) 583-2100
