Kiwi Pacific Airlines is a planned airline in Nelson,New Zealand. It has announced an intention to commence scheduled air services in December 2006.
Kiwi Pacific is being founded by Lamar Hargreaves, owner of a Nelson-based communications company. He has stated that Kiwi Pacific will fill the void left by Origin Pacific Airways, which was also based in Nelson. Origin Pacific ceased flying several months before Kiwi Pacific was announced.
According to its press release, Kiwi Pacific will offer passenger services between Nelson, Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin, and Tauranga. Its fleet will include a Boeing 737, BAe Jetstreams, and Fairchild Metroliners. They also operate freight services with Fokker Friendship. It has been speculated that Airwork, a New Zealand air charter and maintenance company, will be involved — it already possesses the necessary licences.
