Rusty Edwards is a hymnwriter who was born in Dixon, Illinois on January 22,1955. He has been an ordained minister for over 23 years, and is currently the Senior Pastor of Christ Lutheran Church in Marietta, Georgia (a suburb of Atlanta).
Over two dozen of his hymns have been published in hymnbooks used by 35 denominations in eight countries. He has published four collections of hymns, including THE YES OF THE HEART (with foreword by Chick Corea), GRATEFUL PRAISE, AS SUNSHINE TO A GARDEN, and EACH BREATH EVERY HEARTBEAT . He has published a fifth collection together with Jenni Lee Boyden, entitled BIDDEN UNBIDDEN (Abingdon Press:Nashville). His best known songs so far are: We All are one in Mission, Praise the One who Breaks the Darkness, Now it is Evening, Loving Spirit, To a Maid Engaged to Joseph, and Each Breath, Every Heartbeat. He is an honorary citizen of Austin, Texas and a Kentucky Colonel.
Rusty is also an Oblate of the Pecos Benedictine Monastery in Pecos, New Mexico.
