[edit] History

It was founded in 1991, after the Soviet Union dissolution, as the first Russian educational and scientific center of social knowledge. In the beginning the whole university consisted of about 150 students, 4 chairs and only 2 sub-faculties. Nowadays the Russian State Social University is one the biggest educational centers of Russia. It contains more than 80,000 students at 60 chairs on 11 faculties. The RSSU's students today are the unique specialists for Russia, because RSSU is the only place in all ex-USSR territories, where social insurance or family law faculties could be found.
