The Russia national basketball team represents Russia in international basketball competitions. The team came into existence after the dissolution of the Soviet Union and its powerful basketball team. The team has won 2 silver medals in the FIBA World Championships and is the reigning EuroBasket champion, having won gold at the 2007 event in Spain.
