Russell Patterson

Russell Patterson (1894March 17, 1977) was an American cartoonist.

Born in Omaha, Nebraska, his accomplishments included work on the Montreal Gazette. He received the National Cartoonist Society Advertising and Illustration Award for 1957, and the Elzie Segar Award in 1974.

He created the cartoon Mamie that appeared in the New York Times. He also helped promote the idea of the 1930s fashion style known as the flapper.
