Russell Owen

Russell Owen (1889 - 1952) was a U.S. journalist employed by the New York Times. He was a member of the First Byrd Antarctic Expedition of 1928-1930 from which he submitted graphic radio dispatches. In 1930 he won a Pulitzer Prize for these efforts. In 1934 he published a book about the expedition, entitled "South of the Sun" (ISBN 978-1432577667).
