Rushville Consolidated High School, RCHS is a four-year public high school in Rushville, Indiana, United States, as part of the Rush County Schools. The school is in Rush County and has an attendance of around 1,000 students. The School functions on a block schedule with classes alternating every other day. The school mascot is the Lion and the school colors are Red and black.
As of the 2005-06 school year, the school had an enrollment of 813 students and 51.3 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student-teacher ratio of 15.8.[1]

[edit] Drug testing
In 1998, the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit supported a school policy that required students in all extracurricular activities to participate in random drug tests. That was the first time a federal appels court upheld such a policy for students other than athletes.[2] The ruling was challenged by the ACLU, but the United States Supreme Court refused to hear the appeal.[3]

The school mascot is the Lion and the school colors are Black and Red.
Several individuals associated with Rushville High School have been inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame. These include:
- Cinda Rice Brown - Coached girls' basketball for 31 years and won 18 straight sectional championships.[4]
- Jim Gridley - Coached boys' basketball for 8 years, winning 5 sectional championships and 2 regional championships; served as athletic director for 25 years.[5]
- Robert S. Hinshaw - Coached boys' basketball from 1929 to 1943; served as athletic director from 1943 to 1945.[6]
