Rushmore is a 1999 soundtrack to the Wes Anderson film of the same name.
In the album's liner notes, it is explained that director Wes Anderson originally intended for the Rushmore soundtrack to be almost entirely comprised of songs by The Kinks. This concept changed, however, during filming, until only one Kinks song remained on the album.
The following songs appeared in the film but were not included on the soundtrack:
- "Take Ten" - Paul Desmond
- "Jersey Thursday" - Donovan
- "I Am Waiting" - The Rolling Stones
- "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" - The Vince Guaraldi Trio
- "Manoir de Mes Reves" - Django Reinhardt
