For the 2008 Australian TV series see Rush (2008 TV series).

Rush is an Australian television series produced by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation between 1974 and 1976.

The series was a historical drama set during the Gold Rush in the state of Victoria during the 1850s. Twenty-six episodes were made in total.

The leading cast members were John Waters, Olivia Hamnett, Brendon Lunney, Alwyn Kurts, Peter Flett, Max Meldrum and Vincent Ball.

The bulk of the scripts for the serries were written by Colin Free and Ted Roberts.

In the early 1990s the ABC comedy program The Late Show featured a humorous overdub of Rush entitled The Olden Days. The collected segments were later released on VHS. In 2007, they (along with Bargearse, based on Bluey, a similarly overdubbed TV show from the 1970s) were released on DVD.

The theme to the program was released as a hit single in Australia by Brian May and the ABC Showband (b/w The Theme from Seven Little Australians) on the Image record label in 1974. The single made number 5 in the Australian national singles chart in December 1974.
