- Why is the picture one of a cargo van?—Ëzhiki (erinaceus amurensis) 03:09, August 30, 2005 (UTC)
- It is fitted with seats, and it is a luxury(compared to PAZ, used by hungry students) taxi, but the head of this truck is the same used for cargo transit.–Gnomz007(?) 03:39, August 30, 2005 (UTC)(Runglish?)
- Perhaps it would make sense to clarify this in the caption? Otherwise the impression is that Russians use cargo vans as taxis (to hide from bears roaming the streets? :)). I understand, of course, that this is probably the only available image that's somewhat relevant to the topic of the article.—Ëzhiki (erinaceus amurensis) 12:27, August 30, 2005 (UTC)
- When I saw this picture, I laughed hard, for I used to be an everyday "marshrutka" user. People would surely assume that Russians don't like windows and prefer "air-conditioned" cargo vans. KNewman 12:34, August 30, 2005 (UTC)

- Shouldn't it be Kazan guberniya? --Ghirlandajo 08:10, 28 August 2005 (UTC)
- I think it would be better, or at least have a redirect from Kazan gubernia. Unless the author has something against it. abakharev 09:08, 28 August 2005 (UTC)
- My guess is that the author used the terminology adopted in the History of the administrative division of Russia series of articles. That's just a wild guess, although I myself prefer to use "governorate" over "guberniya". Unlike the "oblast"–"province" and "krai"–"territory" cases, the translation of "guberniya" as "governorate" is fairly straightforward, so I do not see a need to annoy readers who do not know Russian with yet another word they would not understand and would have to look up separately. Great article, by the way!—Ëzhiki (erinaceus amurensis) 20:01, August 28, 2005 (UTC)

- Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn completely rewritten by an anon, because the previous version has egregorious mistakes and libels. Looks like a cut and paste job, but google can not find the source. Would not be surprised if the author is a professional Solzhenitsyn-ist or even somebody from AS circle. Currently it looks like an iconography, a couple of critical to Solzenitsyn sentences would help the balance. abakharev 07:12, 28 August 2005 (UTC)

- Mikhail Yangel and Severnye Vrata by anon. abakharev 09:35, 27 August 2005 (UTC)
- I downloaded an MP3 sample of a song by this Severnye Vrata band... This is a typical example of подвальная самодеятельность. The article is an advertisement and probably written by a member or a friend of the band. I'd vote for its deletion. KNewman 15:10, August 27, 2005 (UTC)
- List of Russian painters stub by an anon. Do we really need it? Category:Russian painters works pretty good for me abakharev 09:33, 27 August 2005 (UTC)
- Absolutely unnecessary overlapping with the List of painters and the List of Russians, where I have no time to add new entries. Another example of wiki listmania. --Ghirlandajo 12:01, 27 August 2005 (UTC)
- List of Russian flags by User:Astrotrain needs fact checking and extension. E.g. why the tricolor is said to be in use from 1966 is beyond my understanding abakharev 09:23, 27 August 2005 (UTC)
- Probably a typo for 1666 or 1699. I added a military jack to the list. --Ghirlandajo 12:01, 27 August 2005 (UTC)

- Um ... do they have articles on porn-stars here, too? Just curious ... YES!!! Isn't that somethin'? --
- Submitted for delete. Even if the person is notable, content of the article is pure promotion. Size of biceps has nothing to do with an encyclopedia entry. Picture is irrelevant as well. DEng 23:31, 28 August 2005 (UTC)

- Category:Russian-Americans is for Americans of Russian ethinic background, it does not include Jews, Ukrainians, etc.
- It also exludes people who did not received American passport.
- On the other hand it includes people with very little connection to Russian culture (like Saul Bellow) but has Russian ancestors.
Should we merge the categories, make one a subcategory of the other or keep both? abakharev 03:57, 20 August 2005 (UTC)

You see, why can't you find an article on тётя Галя from Спокойной ночи, малыши in the Great Soviet Encyclopedia?
