[edit] Allende

Plese take another look at [Talk:Salvador_Allende#V.C3.ADctor_Far.C3.ADas.2C_again]. I think I've now demonstrated pretty clearly Allende's thesis was misleadingly quoted. I'd be willing to restore much of what you wrote if we quote Allende accurately. -- Jmabel | Talk 00:06, 22 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] italy

Hi, I changed the map back to its previous version (with Italy shown as having troops there) after your comment at Image talk:Multinational force in iraq countries.PNG (it had been changed a few days ago by someone else). Regards, --Astrokey44 15:01, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Are op-ed piece or blogs reliable?

I noticed your edit [1] to Hugo Chávez, now removed by someone else, and just wanted to comment that editorials are not as reliable a source as actual news items. You wrote:

As when he in his Christmas Eve TV broadcast, with an unambiguous reference to Jews, declared that "minorities, the descendants of those who crucified Christ, have taken over the riches of the world".

This appears to be an editing of two sentences in the original [2] talking about poverty and "why we need Christ"; the first also refers to descendants of those opposing Bolivar in the wars of independence and the United Fruit Company, who so far as I know are all definitively gentiles. The second goes something like:

A minority has commanded the riches of the world; a minority has taken the gold, silver, minerals, water, fertile soil and oil, and has concentrated the wealth in a few hands; less than the ten percent of the population of the world owns more than half of the wealth worldwide; more than half of the settlers of the planet are poor and every day there are more poor men throughout the world.

So I would say the comment is an unambiguous reference to military and economic imperialists and has nothing whatever to do with Judaism (Chávez frequently referring to Christ even when it's not Christmas). Pieces in the Opinion Journal are not news items or independent sources, uand are usally written to make some kind of political point; using them to illustrate the same point risks compounding any distortion. I'd be interested in any comments on this.

[edit] Image Tagging for Image:Beslan survivors.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Beslan survivors.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Beslan hospital.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Beslan hospital.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. feydey 14:40, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Responsibily for the Beslan school hostage crisis page question

Hi, I was removing an ambiguous link on this page, and noticed that it contained most of the same info already on the Beslan school hostage crisis page. Do you think it's reasonable to merge the two and not have them as separate pages? Ani td 19:58, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

Hi. I created the page to ship some of the information from the "Beslan school hostage crisis", which is growing too big, to this sub-page. But as soon as I did this, the edit was reverted by a user called Deenoe (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Beslan_school_hostage_crisis#Responsibily for the Beslan school hostage crisis). I was letting it stay for a bit, but eventually the "Responsibily for the Beslan school hostage crisis" either have to be deleted or the information from "Beslan school hostage crisis" deleted. Which do you think? Rune X2 21:00, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Budyonnovsk.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Budyonnovsk.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}. If you have not already done so, please also include the source of the image. In many cases this will be the website where you found it.

Please specify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Lupo 10:28, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you, Rune X2

You have provided me with a ton of valuable information, as have some other folks. It will take awhile to absorb it all :-0 I certainly appreciate everything you've done in helping to make zombietime presentable. Thanks! Zombiefan 19:31, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Terrorism in country categories

I saw you created the Terrorism in Russia category a while back. A new user is upset by the use of the word terrorism and is removing categories from pages at random. I would appreciate it if you would take a look at, and consider reverting the user's edits to, East Turkestan Islamic Movement, Grey Wolves, and Kurdistan Workers Party. Thanks, KazakhPol 02:40, 9 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] An article which you started, or significantly expanded, Sergey Gritsevets, was selected for DYK!

Updated DYK query On January 20, 2007, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Sergey Gritsevets, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

Thanks for your contributions! Nishkid64 00:05, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hizb ut-Tahrir

An anonymous user - most likely a registered user who frequently edits Hizb ut-Tahrir - is trying to whitewash this organization by removing a large chunk of information you recently added. KazakhPol 23:03, 30 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Charles-Josuah Chaplin

Hi! I was looking at Charles-Josuah Chaplin, and I was wondering where you got the name from; it's spelled oddly. I found a book via Google Book Search that spells it the same way, but they might both be typos. The Library of Congress's authority records (you have to do a search; I can't link directly to the record) spell the name "Charles Joshua Chaplin". Where did you get the other spelling from? grendel|khan 14:12, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

I got it originally transcribed through Russian, so it might very well be wrong. But also a few art sites have it spelled in this way. However there seem to be vastly more google hits on your spelling so that one is probably correct. On the other hand the German wikipedia spells it with "Josuah". The French use neither. Rune X2 15:40, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
Okay, I've moved it and left a note about it on the talk page. Now to add some goodies to Commons and such... grendel|khan 21:07, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Beslan_survivors.jpg listed for deletion

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Beslan_survivors.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. — Rebelguys2 talk 06:18, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re:Vandalizing Younus Shaikh

Hello,

It appears you are neither familiar with Wikipedia:Vandalism nor WP:BLP (or so my good faith assumes). WP:BLP states,

Unsourced or poorly sourced contentious material — whether negative, positive, or just questionable — about living persons should be removed immediately and without discussion from Wikipedia articles...

Now I don't know what dictionary you use, but "immediately" does not mean "let it stay so for a while".

I hope the above helps.Bless sins 10:58, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] September 2007

Hello. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary, which wasn't included with your recent edit to Houri. Thank you. Tiptoety 13:49, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Houri

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Houri, you will be blocked from editing.

Stop changing primary source. Primary sources erasing is vandalism.

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:8ecf4f98.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:8ecf4f98.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jay32183 20:20, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Pallywood

Holocaust denial – even if everything to do with "Pallywood" could be shown to be incorrect, the article would still have its place on Wikipedia, to describe the term and usage. Rune X2 14:01, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

Question for you - do you believe that ethnic slurs should ever appear in the project? Do you consider the word "Pallywood" to be an ethnic slur, or could it cause offence by appearing to be an ethnic slur? (this is a repeat of the question I've put on the TalkPage, you might prefer to answer there and delete this section) PRtalk 09:25, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
Certainly. Here's a few:
* White trash
* Nigger
* Dumb blonde
* yuppie
* Valley girl
* Breeder (slang)
- although I don't think Pallywood falls into the same category. Maybe it's more like October surprise or 9/11 Truth Movement. Rune X2 16:23, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
Congratulations. Another question for you - do you believe that any of these other articles give credence to the ethnic slur implied in (some of) their titles? Is Pallywood startlingly different in this regard? PRtalk 21:09, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Umarov

You have quoted Dokka Umarov in the article about him. Can you add a reference to that quote? Thanks! ForrestSjap 16:29, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Never mind. Already found it.ForrestSjap 16:31, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Little Green Footballs awards

An editor has nominated Little Green Footballs awards, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Little Green Footballs awards and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 13:29, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Budyonnovsk.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Budyonnovsk.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 04:45, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Mecca Time AfD

Hi Rune X2 - in regards to your opinion expressed on Talk:Mecca Time, I ask you to give your feedback at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mecca Time, which will be appreciated. Thanks, Vishnava (talk) 14:30, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
