Rune Word Entertainment, Inc. (RWEINC) is a MMORPG services company, with offices in the United States, the Philippines and China. RWEINC is a player in virtual economy services, also known in the MMORPG industry as secondary market. Members of the gaming community are often critical of such "real world trading", as its services may allow players to break the rules of online games[1].
RWEINC was founded in 2004 as a result of a degree thesis[2] at the University of UmeƄ.
2005-2006 RWEINC has been struggling with Jagex[3] over alleged copyright infringements and trademark misuse. As of March 20, 2008, this dispute is still at a stalemate, with the lawsuit draft never being sent to the local court, but only sent to RWEINC headquarters as a threat.
