Rumple Minze (or RumpleMinze) is a German-style peppermint schnapps. The brand is owned by the alcoholic beverage holding company Diageo, based in London. The liquor is made by the Scharlachberg Distillery in Germany . It has a strong peppermint taste, and is quite high in alcohol content, at 50% alcohol by volume (100 proof). The top market for this product is the United States.
Although it can be consumed straight (in some cases as a digestif), it can also be mixed to form various cocktails.
[edit] Popular Drinks with Rumpleminze
Many people enjoy a small amount of Rumpleminz in their hot chocolate or chocolate milk because of the nice blend of chocolate and mint. The sugar in chocolate milk also disguises the alcoholic taste of the Schnapps.
A recent club drink known as "Wanna Tussin" is made by combining Lipton Raspberry White Iced Tea with Rumpleminz. The conflicting mint and raspberry create a very true likeness of the popular Over The Counter Drug Robitussin.
