- Unlike the book, the film takes place in California, primarily Carson and Torrance. and the film is a tribute to the old blaxploitation films of the 60's and 70's, starring Samuel L. Jackson, Robert De Niro, Bridget Fonda, Micheal Keaton, and Robert Forester, with appearances by Chris Tucker, and Sid Haig.
