Ruhrstadion

Ruhrstadion is a football stadium in Bochum, Germany. It was renamed "rewirpowerSTADION" in 2006 under a 5 year naming rights deal [1]. The stadium has a capacity of 31,328 people. The original structure was built in 1919.

It is the home stadium of current Bundesliga side VfL Bochum. The stadium is located at the Castroper Straße, northeast of the city center of Bochum, where VfL Bochum and its predecessors have staged matches since 1911.

The current stadium was built between March 1976 and July 1979 and the first game was between the VfL Bochum and SG Wattenscheid 09 on July 21, 1979. The stadium has a capacity of 31,328 people.[2] The original capacity was over 50,000 but was decreased by numerous modifications.
