[edit] what about 9mm
I've read excellent reviews for the lcp 380, and it's about time the major manufacturers made a super subcompact pistol. Large companies are so stupid though, because they should have read the writing on the wall that there would be a huge market for super subcompact with all the conceal carry laws passing. I've heard bad reviews of all other super subcompacts like Kel-Tec jamming and pieces falling apart. However, I also hear that the 380 caliber is just not good enough when you absolutely, positively, have to stop someone dead in the middle of the night. Since Ruger pretty much copied Kel-Tec's P-3AT, it makes me wonder whether they will copy Kel-Tec's PF9 which is extremely close in size to the P-3AT but carries 9mm. You think everyone is going crazy over the LCP 380, just imagine if Ruger had an LCP 9mm. My concealed carry permit is about to expire, so I really want to get another pistol in a smaller size ASAP. I'm not a fashionista, but guys fashion these days is all about slimmer, tighter fitting clothes. The baggie look is out, so my pistol on my hip sometimes sticks out. However, I'm not ready to carry a 380, although, as they say, better small than nothing at all, and I've seriously left my Glock 357sig at home sometimes because I don't want the hassle of wearing it out and trying to conceal it. Fact is, I could go jogging with that LCP 380 and I would never go jogging with my Glock. You could seriously strap that thing to your arm under a t-shirt. My Glock is 21.5oz unloaded and the LCP 380 is 9.4oz. The Kel-Tec PF9 is 12.7 oz and I'm sure Ruger could make it with similar specs, and I'd wear that jogging. If someone, anyone comes out with a reliable Kel Tec PF9 copycat, I'd be all over that. Who knows if Ruger is secretly manufacturing it now as we speak. Any Ruger employees out there willing to spill the beans??? I would feel sorry for all the folks buying the LCP 380 when the LCP 9mm comes out and it has similar dimensions and weight, and I think Ruger is probably smart to get the 380 out and then come out with the 9mm. I'm still debating. 380 will kill, make no mistake, but in the chaos and stress of a gun battle, the smallest percentages count, and when your life matters, you want all the numbers on your side. He hits you with a 9 and you hit him with a 380, who's more likely to get off the next shot? But as I said, if I'm not carrying anything, I don't even got a first shot. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.233.7.247 (talk) 21:48, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
